The Bellingham Metal Arts Guild (BMAG) is a non-profit guild created by and for lovers of the metal arts.

How It All Started
A small group of passionate artists, students and teachers began the process of forming BMAG at the end of January, 2012 with a meeting at the now closed Pouncing Rain Jewelry & Metalworking Center. The interests expressed by the 24 people who attended this meeting were noted and used to create our Mission Statement and Objectives along with additional input from others in the community.

What We Have Been Doing
  • We've provided classes for almost two years!
  • We've improved the studio with new resources.
  • We've incorporated as a Washington State non-profit corporation.
  • We're awaiting approval of our IRS tax-exempt status (501 (c)(3)).
What We Need
  • Students!  If you have an interest in jewelry metalsmithing, sign up for a class.  Beginners welcome!
  • Members!  If you would like to gain the camaraderie of others who love making jewelry and other objects with metalsmithing, join and get active!
  • Instructors!  If you have a metalsmith jewelry skill, please let us know.  We compensate our instructors with part of the fees, the balance of which go to paying the rent and maintaining our great facility.

Business Hours

Our facility is open during classes, workshops, member meetings, board meetings and BMAG Member's Open Studio (BMAG-MOS). We have made this decision in order to focus more on what our membership wanted. We have continue to increase the number & variety of classes/ workshops we offer while working to expand the BMAG Member's Open Studio (BMAG-MOS) Program. Thank you for your patience while we work out the details.

If you are a member and are interested in using BMAG Member's Open Studio (BMAG-MOS), we request you take a complimentary Member's Refresher/Safety course. For more information, please email the education committee chair at: info@
